PLASTIC COATINGS

Plastic Coating is the process of applying a thermoplastic coating to the surface of metal items to provide long-term corrosion, impact and chemical resistance whilst at the same time offering an attractive decorative finish.

We use Plascoat PPA 571 for all our Plastic Coating. This is a superior high performance coating powder. It has been specifically designed to provide a long lasting and tough coating for metal in exterior applications on mild steel, galvanised steel and aluminium substrates.

Plascoat PPA 571 is available in a variety of colours. It is resistant to stress cracking, adverse weather conditions, detergents, salt spray, and typical airborne pollutants. The coating maintains excellent adhesion to the metal substrate without the need of a primer. The material also provides good abrasion and impact resistance.

Plastic Coating is ideal for the long term protection of metal parts in a variety of industries and uses;

The protection of Steel, Aluminium and Ductile Iron Pipes, Tanks and Fittings.

  • Drinking Water Contact Approval
  • Impact resistance – even at low temperatures.
  • UV and soil resistance.
  • Long term corrosion protection.

Fencing.

  • Long term corrosion protection.
  • Attractive, colour stable finish – even in tropical environments.
  • Resistance to sun, sand, water and typical airborne pollutants.
  • Maintained flexibility – even at minus 60?C.
  • Resistance to vandal attack and graffiti.

Balustrading and Staircase fittings, disabled persons handrails and wheelchairs

  • Resistant to cleaning chemicals
  • Good 'grip' and warm 'feel'

Street furniture and lampposts

Plastic Coating is the ideal finish for the coating of lampposts, benches, waste bins, and cycle racks providing a long term, low maintenance finish.

Electrical Cable Trays, Trunking and ancillary fittings.

Very good long term corrosion resistance, especially if coated over a galvanised surface together with low toxicity and low smoke levels in the event of fire.
